Welcome to the PJO Femslash Minibang 2018!
This is a basic info post detailing everything you need to know in order to sign up for the project! Read it to answer any questions you might have, or send us an ask on the blog if you’re still left a bit confused.
Sounds awesome! What’s a minibang? A bang is a fandom led project that pairs writers and artists together in order to generate more content for a certain topic (in this case, pjo femslash!). One person creates a fic about the topic, while the other(s) create art based on that fic. The mini in this case indicates the word count for the fic–how big it is. For this minibang writers will only be tasked with about 5-10k words, and will accordingly have less time to do it than if it were a bigger bang.
What’s this bang about? This is a bang about femslash! Specifically, in the context of the PJO universe (including HoO, TKC, MCGA and all that jazz). Participants will create works revolving around their favorite pjo girls, particularly their favorite f/f ships. Polyships are definitely allowed (and encouraged!), but remember that this bang is all about femslash, so there won’t be a focus on m/f relationships. In the end, the purpose of this minibang is to generate more content for wlw fans of pjo who want to see themselves represented! We had a lot of awesome fics and artwork last year, so I’m really excited to try going into it again!
How to sign up:
Artists can sign up here. Artists will be tasked with creating a full piece work based of off their partner’s fic in the time allotted (they’ll get to choose who to work with). In order to see what constitutes as art, check out the full rules and guidelines for artists here. (For those who are on the app or otherwise can’t access that page, click here).
Writers can sign up here. Writers will be tasked with creating a minimum of 5k words for a fic centered on a certain femslash ship or character of their choosing, as well as first creating a summary of their prospective fic by May 3rd so that artists will know how to choose. In order to see the full rules and guidelines for being a writer, check out this page. (For those who are on mobile or otherwise can’t access that page, click here).
Anybody is allowed to sign up as both a writer and an artist, but we very
much do not recommend it.
As of right now, all applications are due by May 1st, 2018.
That just about covers it! A schedule of events for the project is posted on the blog, which you can check for reminders on deadlines, as well as any possible updates. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this project, and i hope that you decide to join!
please reblog and share to spread the word!
